Review: Vampire Academy: Spirit Bound

spirit boundName of Book: Vampire Academy: Spirit Bound
By: Richelle Mead
Publisher: Razorbill (a part of Penguin group)
Copyright Date: May 2010
Number of Pages: 496
Format: YA, paranormal, fiction
Reason for Reading: am in full-on series addict mode since finishing Vampire Academy
Rating: A

Rose is back at the academy. Graduation is near and the only thing standing in her way are The Trials. She needs to pass in order to officially become a guardian. Rose and Lissa also have plans to take on a quest. Is it really possible to return a Strigoi back to his former state? Rose has it on good authority that it is possible. Thus she and Lissa set on a dangerous journey.

I am finding it more and more difficult to sum up the plots without giving away spoilers. Please forgive me if this one is shorter than usual. I have done well to not give away the fates of certain characters as it is much more delicious to discover it on your own without reading about it beforehand.

As the series nears the end, the stakes (haha!) are getting higher and higher.ย  The emotional intensity becomes unbearable at times.ย  Adrian has a much bigger role, Mia is now something of a badass and Lissa is getting braver.ย  Rose continues to have crazy ideas and get herself into a number of scrapes and close shaves, but that is what Rose does. We learn more about the mysterious Abe and Rose’s mother returns.

This series has hooked me completely.
