“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

From Bloodlines website:

I wasn’t free of my past yet.

Sydney’s blood is special. That’s because she’s an alchemist—one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives. But the last encounter Sydney had with vampires got her in deep trouble with the other alchemists. And now with her allegiances in question, her future is on the line.

When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir RoseHathaway. But what unfolds is far worse.  Jill Dragomir—the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir—is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the unlikeliest of places—a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. The last thing Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathizing with vampires. And now she has to live with one.

The Moroi court believe Jill and Sydney will be safe at Amberwood Prep, but threats, distractions, and forbidden romance lurk both outside—and within—the school grounds. Now that they’re in hiding, the drama is only just beginning.

So technically, it came out yesterday, but I don’t yet have it in my greedy little hands, so it counts right? I say it does. 🙂

I am SOOOO excited to read this. Um, I ended up being stupid crazy about Vampire Academy. A spin-off series focused on side characters? Yes, please.

I still need to read this series (and this companion series) after hearing the most amazing things about it! Not right now though… I’m kind of burnt out on vampires but I have no doubt that I’ll return to them sometime in the not too distant future.

I totally understand vampire burnout. I have been very reluctant to read more vampire series. However, my sister bugged me and bugged me to read this. She even gifted me the first copy. It is a fresh twist on the vampire theme and super addictive.

  3. I have heard that this is outstanding! I hope you get it soon!

I’m super excited to read this spin-off series! VA was probably my favorite vampire series. 🙂 I ordered myself a copy this morning, but it won’t be coming for awhile because of some other pre-orders. Great pick!

  6. Penguin sent me a copy of this one with some goodies and I must say, I never would have been interested if not for that. I’ll have to start reading it soon. Great pick 🙂

I haven’t read anything by Richelle Mead. This one sounds quite interesting, though.

Awesome pick! I’m excited to read this one, as well. I’m loving Vampire Academy so far, so I’m all for reading another series set in the same world.

I LOVE THIS!! Seriously, if you were a fan of Adrian throughout VA, you’re going to be swooning your heart out in Bloodlines. If you weren’t a fan of Adrian throughout VA, you’re STILL going to be swooning your heart out 😀 He OWNS every single scene he’s in. And I adore Sydney! Really hope you get this soon! I think I even liked this better than the first VA book!
